About The Counsellor
Hello, I'm Karen.
I am a Senior Accredited Counsellor with the BACP - MBACP (Senior Accred.), a BACP Accredited Supervisor and also a Registered Independant Counsellor with the UKRCP (United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
Counselling since 1995, I work in Private Practice and within an agency setting, offering Individual counselling and couple counselling. I offer both Long Term and Brief Therapy. I also offer Supervision to other Counsellors.
My training background is predominantly Psychodynamic, but I work integratively, also incorporating aspects of Person Centred, Humanistic, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Systemic theories.
My aim is to offer Clients a safe, warm, respectful and sometimes challenging environment, in which they can explore the issues that are important to them.
Qualifications
I hold the Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling with the University of Hertfordshire, the CSCT Diploma in Counselling, the Relate Certificate in Marital & Couple Counselling, a Certificate in CBT skills and the Cascade Diploma in Individual and Group Supervision.
I also hold an Enhanced CRB dislosure certificate.
